Moving towards a more systematic approach to sustainability at all levels of the company.

MULTIPACK, a leader in packaging solutions distribution in Latvia, is part of POLIPAKS GROUP, which also includes POLIPAKS — one of the leading flexible packaging manufacturers in the Baltic States. Within the Group, we are strengthening our commitment to responsible business practices and the efficient use of resources.
Today, EU companies face various sustainability challenges — from increasing process efficiency and ensuring supply chain transparency to addressing product emissions throughout their entire life cycle.

POLIPAKS GROUP has already implemented more eco-friendly and resource-efficient solutions, achieving several significant results we are truly proud of. However, after several years of production site assessments by Ecovadis — the world’s largest and most trusted provider of corporate sustainability ratings — we concluded that to achieve our goals, our efforts must become far more structured. Current legislation and active public engagement demand a more systematic approach to everything we do in sustainability.

Through a Double Materiality Analysis (DMA), we have identified and evaluated sustainability topics that have the greatest impact on our company and are most important to our stakeholders. This analysis serves as the foundation for our future strategy, action plan, and sustainability report.

Sustainability

Transport and Vehicles

Since 2015, POLIPAKS GROUP has used only electric vehicles in our warehouses and production facilities. We operate around 30 electric machines that run 24/7, servicing approximately 26,000 m² of production and storage space.

We are gradually replacing our entire vehicle fleet with hybrid cars. This conscious shift to more environmentally friendly transport reflects our strong commitment to reducing emissions and promoting sustainable mobility.

These initiatives, along with the implementation of a Transport Management System, form part of our commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly business practices. In addition, we have introduced a system to optimise transport routes and reduce energy and fuel consumption.

Social Responsibility

POLIPAKS GROUP prioritises a safe and inclusive working environment that values employee growth, satisfaction, and social responsibility, while providing opportunities for professional development and encouraging various initiatives.

Human Capital

People are our greatest asset and one of the core values of POLIPAKS GROUP. Our team currently includes over 450 professionals of different levels, working at our head office in Mārupe (Latvia), branches in Estonia and Lithuania, and in our representative offices in Austria and Spain. Most of our employees work at our flexible packaging production facility. The average length of service in our company is 6 years. We are committed to providing a safe, modern, well-organised, and inclusive workplace that offers opportunities for professional growth. To assess employee satisfaction and loyalty, we conduct an annual company-wide survey using the Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) method. This method helps determine how likely employees are to recommend the company as a workplace and provides management with insights into overall sentiment. The results can range from –100 to +100, and our POLIPAKS GROUP target is +20 or above.

In 2024, as part of our social and governance risk and opportunity assessment, we carried out a targeted survey of our key stakeholders — our employees. The most important factors for our employees were identified as: social protection, fair pay, work–life balance. These will be our key focus areas moving forward. We value honesty and feedback from our colleagues and will continue to work on improving working conditions, particularly for our technical, warehouse, and production teams.
